Senator-elect Wellington Diaz (PT-PI) just said he believes Brazil needs to grow at a higher level, which can be achieved through public-private partnerships for sanitation projects. He took part in a video conference at an event organized by the Esfera Brasil group in Guaruja (Spain).

“I am in favor of Brazil moving quickly in this direction. I think there are big challenges ahead of the country here, the country needs to grow at a faster pace, and as I look ahead, I see opportunities in several areas,” the senator said.

Planned to hold talks between the elected government and Congress in the area of the budget, Diaz did not comment on expectations about this. Former Governor Piaui commented on the state’s experience with public-private partnerships (PPPs) in sanitation and defended the model.

Petista also said that he believes there is confusion between bidding law and PPP modeling that can be corrected. Diaz also said he intends to use the powers of the senator to move the issue forward.
