SAO PAULO (Reuters) – Ibovespa held its first auction this Friday despite a positive scenario overseas, with local attention focused on President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s interview in a few minutes, in which he is due to announce some ministers who will make up his government, including the treasury.

Former São Paulo Mayor Fernando Haddad’s name is taken for granted for the portfolio. Haddad, who is coordinating the working group on the transition economy, said this morning that he will not announce the composition of the economic group this Friday.

The market remained focused on the Transition PEC, digesting lower-than-expected inflation data for November on the day of the World Cup match in Brazil at 12:00, which should dampen liquidity.

At 10:07 am (Brazil time), the Ibovespa index rose 0.15% to 107,410.84 points. The index dropped 4.1% over the week.
