At Pforzheim school: two students seriously injured in alleged knife attack

ZTwo youths were reported to have seriously stabbed two 17-year-old children at a school in Pforzheim. Two students were hospitalized after the incident Tuesday afternoon, according to police and prosecutors. The suspects, aged 18 and 19, were arrested after a brief escape. Both were still in custody Wednesday.

The spokesman said police believe the attack was not random and that the two young men were not targeted randomly. The background to the crime is still unclear and requires clarification. Initial findings indicate the suspects are not students at the school, the spokesperson said.

According to investigators, they were on a bench with others around 2:30 p.m. It is reported that an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old boy entered the school and stabbed two young people.

Police said Wednesday that the victims’ lives were not in danger. It is assumed that the suspects and victims knew each other – in such and similar cases, investigators talk about “previous relationships.” No bystanders were in danger during the incident, the spokesman said.

Recently, several acts of violence have occurred in schools in Baden-Württemberg. A student even died in Saint-Leon-Rot near Heidelberg and in Offenburg.
